Today, 17 November, I am thankful for cozy flannel shirts! Today is a very blustery windy day with some sunshine and blue skies but also some clouds. I'm thankful for the warmth of a flannel shirt.

I typically wore mine with leggings,a nice plain tee shirt, thick socks and chunky boots when I was teaching (The shirt had to be tunic length and cover our butts fully). Now that I'm retired, I wear them with skinny jeans or leggings. I also use them as a "jacket" on chilly evenings in September, October, April, and May to run errands or sitting by the bonfire.
I had to be professional teacher M-Thursday but Fridays we could wear more casual clothes unless we had to attend a home visit or IEP meeting. It was a private prek special ed agency so more casual was ok. In the NYS public schools, you cannot wear denim. (at least not here in our district).
What about you? Do you own flannel shirts? Does your work-place allow for more casual dressing on certain days?
