Today 9 November I am grateful for my church.
I truly wish Dave and I had joined when we had first been married in 1990, the year the church was started here in the Capital Region. In fact, the senior pastor and his wife who is a friend of mine, got married the same day we did! We didn't join until 2005 but oh how thankful I am every day that we belong to this community of diverse people, diverse religious backgrounds and a pastor who doesn't preach politics from the pulpit and who is humble, honest, and authentic. I love that we just follow the words of Jesus vs a manmade theology or doctrine. We are open to all, no matter their race, economic status, religion, or sexual identity. There are over 50 small groups and classes to choose from as well as activity groups. There is literally something going on every day of the week at our Latham site (except for Fridays and Saturdays usually) and our other 2 sites in Clifton Park and Saratoga are also thriving and doing well.
Do you attend or are you a member of a church? Share in the comment section.
I'm also combining the Sunday Stealin' meme with this post. To lear more head to this blog.

I didn't think of Bohemian Rhapsody - that is a good choice. Yes, we are active members of a United Methodist Church in Alabama. I am also on staff at the church and we are busy teaching people about Jesus and how he loved everyone. We are also busy feeding the hungry and teaching ESOL classes, in addition to many other things!! My husband has been attending this church since his birth - 72 years ago. I started attending here when I was 23.
What a coincidence that you mention "Silent Night" in a post where you ask if I belong to a church. I do and, like many of us, I travel over Christmas to spend it with loved ones. While I am grateful to be surrounded by family and friends, I miss celebrating in MY church on Christmas Eve, holding a white candle and singing "Silent Night." Alas, I can't be in two places at once. PS You commented on my post that members of your family love The Princess Bride. Did you mean the book or the movie? While the movie it was based on is popular, it's only half the story, concentrating on Buttercup. The modern day segments were deleted for time. I would be delighted if your family loved the book, but it's nowhere near as possible as the movie.
Hi Faith. I totally agree with you about the Bible and The Book Thief. Yes, as you know, I do belong to a Christian church that I love, and I am off to attend Sunday Services there now. I may play along with Sunday Stealing later today. Have a good Sunday.
