I'm participating in Day 4 of the April A-Z Challenge. My theme is the Attributes of God and letter D is for Divine.
I'm basing this on a Scripture from 2 Peter
Divine power, by definition, is the supernatural ability and authority to create, govern, and intervene in the universe. Most world religions believe that their gods have divine powers.
In Christianity, we believe that God is the true Source of all divine power. This was evidened by the parting of the Red Sea during Moses' time in the book of Exodus. (Old Testament).
The Resurrection of Jesus (the reason we celebrate Easter) is considered the ultimate manifestation of the divine power of God, overcoming death!
Examples of Divine Power include (but are not limited to):
- performing wonders that defy natural law (miracles and creation)
- supernatural intervention (saves, redeems)
- spiritual transformation (inner strength, wisdom, ability to change their nature, through the Holy Spirit)
- granting blessings (bestowing peace, mercy, grace).
We serve a Divine God!
