Another week has flown by!
Only 16 more school days left for Claire and I. (10 are full days; 6 are half-days)
Only 5 more for Courtney. Then she has district finals & state exams.

The Lord has been speaking to me this week in many ways. I will share some of it at a later post. For now.....
here is how He is filling me up this week with thanks:
  • Cookie sales! I know, this sounds kinda shallow but.....I was super busy at week's beginning and my children wanted some sweets. I had no time to bake so when I did some shopping at Target this week, I noticed that the Pepperidge Farm cookies were on sale, 2 for $5.00! (this is a great deal where we live). I bought one pkg and the girls were so thrilled to have a special after-school snack. They went well with......
  • Strawberries! Now, I don't care for these berries. I used to be allergic to them and I still am to a degree although not as bad as when I was a kid. Both of my daughters have decided this spring that these are great for them (they shunned them in years past) so I bought a quart of them and keep them washed and ready to eat for after school and with dinner. My husband likes Strawberry Shortcake which I will make for him tonite. It's a quick dessert on evenings like this when we are busy.
  • Town Library: I am so thankful for our town library. My youngest daughter cannot take any more books out of the elem. school library as they are in the midst of inventory due to year's end. She was in the middle of "My Friend, Flicka". She can finish it because our town library allows books to be out for 3 whole weeks. This will be a summer where we visit frequently, I suspect, as we will be home for most of July.
  • My hybrid bike: I am getting alot of exercise done with my bike. It's a hybrid and takes well to the roads, paths, and dirt roads that are prevalent in my immediate neighborhood. I am doing about 4-7 miles each time I take it out and it not only helps me physically but emotionally and spiritually as well! I can pray with no disturbances while on my bike and meditate as I pedal along.
  • My neighbor, Chris: I am very thankful for this mom. She works full time as does her husband. Yesterday, I hadn't remembered that my oldest needed to be picked up at the high school (she had her Oral Exam (French) after school) at 2:45. Well, the elem. bus gets to my neighborhood at 3 pm. I was worried I wouldn't be back in time to get Claire. I noticed that Chris was home early (she took half day off!) and she agreed to watch for the bus and keep an eye on the house (I left the deck door unlocked) and watch Claire go in. What a blessing it is to have good neighbors I trust. And God blessed me further by this: the elem bus was late yesterday so Courtney and I made it back before Claire. Isn't the Lord wonderful??
What about you? What are you most thankful for this week/today??

My bike is a hybrid also, and I LOVE riding for the exact same reasons you listed. I haven't been able to ride for about a month since I have this annoying Fifth Disease, but I am eager to get back out on the bike.
Enjoy!
I have just 1 1/2 days of school left! My classroom is almost packed up.

Praise the Lord for the way he blesses us with "little" things.

BTW, what is a hybrid bike? You can tell I don't get out much. :)
