The Countdown Continues....

Well, today was our first half day of school.
I have no idea why we need to have these last 4 half days of school.
Couldn't we just end yesterday??? The last full day?

My oldest has 2 more exams. Monday is her French2R exam (a district-written one) and Tuesday is her Biology Regents exam, written by the state board of regents. She is in the high 90's for both classes and in French she had a 100 average for the last 3 quarters! Needless to say, she doesn't plan on studying much for these 2 exams. She did study for her Honors English exam. She admitted that one was a bit tough. So...she is officially done as of noon on Tuesday after her 3 hour exam.

Claire and I have 3 more half days!

And then......we'll be off to the beach on Thursday or Friday of next week. It depends on which day I can get in for a hair color appt! But...we have several awesome lakes to choose from in our region...I have even been known to drive for 1 1/2 hrs and make an entire day of it! We will most likely head to the lake where we plan on kayaking most of the summer.

This is yet another busy weekend.
Tonite is the Senior High Banquet at the Youth Center at church. They are dressing up and the theme is "phantom of the opera". They have a catered dinner, a dj with dancing, and something special planned for the seniors. There will also be a photographer available. Courtney is dressing up...I'll take pics and post them at a later date.

Tomorrow my hubby and I are heading to one of the local lakes (about 30 min east of us) to kayak. FINALLY!! Courtney and Claire will be here doing their thing.
Later that day, my sister and her husband are coming for a deck dinner.
Then, after dinner, my aunt and her husband will be stopping in before they head back to Virginia. Which means, my other sister and her son will be here to say "hi" and my sister and her husband and 2 daughters (one of them is the new baby!!) might stop in as well. We will build a fire in the firepit and have dessert and coffee and a time of fellowship and fun.

Sunday brings duties at the Youth Center during the early service and then worship and sermon with my husband. It is Claire's last day of Sunday School before Sept. There is no summer SS this year due to some changes our church is going through. There will still be SS for PreK children and the nurseries will still be open for infants and toddlers.

Sunday afternoon is supposed to be rainy here so we will most likely watch a movie. We are thinking of renting Gone with the Wind (I have seen it a ton of times!) since my oldest is now reading it.

Well, I won't be back on here until at least Monday....so...enjoy your weekend everyone....what plans do you have??

Your weekend sounds wonderful. That is a really neat thing the church does for the seniors.

Have you ever seen the movie "The Ultimate Gift"? Awesome, awesome movie!

I have grocery shopping needing to be done and I think tomorrow me and hubby will be getting some stuff to go under our trees in the back. I have a massage appt. set and then I plan on taking a bunch of books to the used book store. Hopefully I can get a really good credit for them. I wish hubby and I had a thing that we do together like your kayaking. That sounds like so much fun. Maybe we'll hike down the trails in the coulees this weekend.

Sounds like a fun but busy weekend. :) I agree with Susanne, we loved the movie "The Ultimate Gift."
I think it's great you and hubby can go kayaking together, those times together like that are needed!
We are thinking of heading up to the ADK's this summer and then onto Maine. I will keep you posted.
Enjoy the fun weekend!
