A Time of Rest!

God is in the restoration business, is He not?
And what better place, in my opinion, to be restored/refreshed/rested than surrounded by His great Handiwork??!

The ocean amazes me. I felt the pull of it when up in Acadia.....I felt like I wanted to just slip away in the pounding surf and forget about trials and tribulations and daily living......

and yet....of course I didn't do that! But that pull was so great.......

after a couple of weeks here at home, back to our normal daily life, and spending time with friends and getting back to church, I felt as though God was wanting me to be restored in a new way.......He is still in the process of doing just that. It is a process.....stuff I am dealing with from long ago....but...He is faithful to pursue us......
and this time...while at this part of the Atlantic Ocean, I didn't feel that drive to just run.....to just escape...but rather.....
to face what lies ahead and to let the music of the surf wash over me, and thru me.......

and what quiet times I had! I spent alot of time alone on the rocks that jut out into the bay...before most people were even up......(we tend to sleep in later than usual while at the beach house!)....and someday I may share some of what the Lord spoke to me thru His Word and thru my prayer journaling.......

for now....enjoy the pictures!
(note: the pics that are small, are ones my teenager took...not sure why they came out this way....)

What the beach house looks like from the beach...
this is the back of the house.
Due to security reasons, I cannot show you the front of the house.....

What the sky looked like on Sunday 8/2
We didn't venture out in the kayaks that day.....
windy, rough waves and cloudy...but..no rain!

Claire enjoying some beach chair time

Claire loves walking the beach at high tide

Claire's turn to use the camera....
this evening we were looking for green sea glass....
always a challenge!

Around the point, there is always an osprey's nest.
Here is one of them...
the other one was spooked so took off just as I snapped this.

Claire loves exploring ocean life in the tidal pools around the point.
This is a snail........

Whenever there are teens at the house,
it is inevitable that nails will be done on the deck!
Courtney, Becca and Claire had fun doing girly-girl things.

Low tide.
The blonde girl is Courtney's good friend Becca
who spent the week with us!

The moon was gorgeous!

Kayaks all lined up for the next a.m.!
The green one is mine!

What a beautiful bay!!

Now....where have you gone this summer?
Or if you did a "stay-cation" what did you do?

Leave me a comment or do a post and I'l come visit!

I am so jealous!! I love the beach, but haven't been able to visit for decades... we always used to spend our summers at Drake's Island in Maine. It looks like you have a lovely time. Thanks so much for sharing the photos with us☺

Oh Wow! These pictures were all so great! Everyone of them! Even the small ones! They look like postage stamps! We have not taken a vacation yet. We are going to Disney in September. I am glad you had a great trip.

That's an amazing place! Wow, wonderful photos. I can smell the sea breezes.

We've been having a "staycation" this year. We usually take our "real" vacation in the fall when all the tourists are home working!

I've only been to an ocean beach once in my life when we went to Hawaii in the late '80's. I'd so love to be able to do something like this. It looks so relaxing and rejuvenating. Love the pic of you and Dave!

We pretty much did a staycation this year. With hubby out of work for 5 months and just starting a new job in July it's no holiday time for him. But we were able to drive a province away for 4 days and deliver my oldest a vehicle so that was like a little getaway.
