Summer Faves

It's Friday! and a hot, humid weekend is upon us here in the Capital Region of NYS! But I would rather have this than cool, dreary rainy, grey skies! Hopefully I can talk my husband into more kayaking on one of the ADK lakes this weekend! Unfortunately we have an important parent meeting for our teen youth group at church...which we don't want to miss. So, Sunday will be spent at church...but at least it is air conditioned! :)

For my fave five, which I have neglected most of this summer (sorry, Susanne!), I decided to show some of my fave pics from activities we were involved in for most of July and beginning of August. And there are 6....oops...oh well...it was hard to choose just 5!

Dave and I at the Wareham Red Robin (MA)
after a morning of shopping with 2 teen girls and a preteen!
We needed to fortify ourselves
before heading out for our
2 1/2 hour kayak paddle around Buzzards Bay.
This is one of my fave summer pics because
it shows us both relaxed and having fun.

Together.

Which is rare.
We are both busy.......

summer is great for me since I don't work
from end of June until beginning of Sept.

God has put it on my heart to really REST
when we can....our souls need it!
And our families are better off for it!

My oldest, Courtney, at her Sweet 16 party.
Bittersweet for me...
her last official birthday party with friends.

(her next big party will be graduation!!)
This pic definitely shows her personality: a princess!

This pic of my baby girl dancing in theJuly HizKidzPraise show!
July was busy because of this ministry
but....
ballet is her passion...
and I think this particular ballet

is my most fave of all the dances she has been in.
(the adult with her is the ministry choreographer)

This is one of the mountain trails for biking
that we did
while in Acadia National Park.
I LOVE this picture because
it represents so much of what I love about
Nature and God's Creation:
the forest, the water,
biking,
the trees...
peaceful surroundings.

Kayaking.
Need I say more?
The lime green one is mine...
we also own another one just like it, which is to the right of the red one.

The other 2 belong to a group of 4 that remain at the beach house.

This pic taken by my teenager.
It was the last evening of our week at the beach house.
We plan on going back on 9/2
but.....wow....
don't know if we'll see another full moon like this that weekend.
If I could, I would buy the house from my inlaws
and live there the entire summer!

So what are your fave things from this summer???

What a wonderful summer you've had! I love all the pics, especially the one of forest - I love pics with a path or a road through it - and I like the one your daughter took of the dock and the lake. Love photos around the water!

Your photo choices and explanations give a great picture of what your summer has been. I really like this idea - but I could never choose just 5 (or even 6) photos - I'm not that good at decisions. I hope your remaining weeks of summer are as full and fun.

Faith, I love your posts like this. I feel like you took me along too. Thanks for sharing the highligts of your summer. We've been on 'staycation' this summer, but we may be headed south to CA in a few weeks. Can't wait!
