Linda, from 2nd Cup of Coffee, has posed these final random questions for the year. To play along simply head over to her blog and join in......HAPPY NEW YEAR!
1. Do you find it gross to share drinks with family? Friends?
yes. I have shared drinks with my husband and sometimes my daughters...but friends? um. no.
2. What have you learned this year? (You didn't see a question of that weight coming, did you? At least not for #2.)
I have actually learned alot about my self. I am sometimes not trusting enough....and at other times, I trust way too much! I have learned to value what time I have with close friends and/or family, and I have learned that God really does "sing over us" (Zephaniah 3)
3. When do you dismantle the Christmas decorations?
I usually do this task on New Year's Eve day....and finish up on New Year's Day....unless we are hosting a party, which this year we are not. (Rather, we get to schlep the teenager around to parties)..... My winter decorations (snowmen, etc) stay up until end of February.
4. Something you wish to accomplish before the end of 2009 is:
Finish getting my house organized and cleaned! lol...we have been redoing our half bath...painting, etc. New toilet and sink won't be going in for at least another month but at least the painting is done and the accessories are being finished up before Friday, hopefully! On a more serious note: I hope to talk to someone dear to my heart whom I am feeling a bit "estranged" from....something happened in our friendship, and I am not sure what, so am trusting that I will find some time with her to talk before the new year begins!
5. How do you feel about winter (after Christmas)?
Well, for the most part I am not a winter person. the snow is pretty (when we get it...which is rare in this area....to the north and west of us there is LOTS of snow as I write this...here in the capital region of NYS we are seeing icky grass but bitter cold winds. I tend to not go many places other than work or church and the most important of errands, like food shopping, in the winter months! I just don't like it. Am counting the days until the kayaks go back in the water! I sometimes, (unofficial diagnoses) seem to have SAD (seasonal affective disorder)...I much prefer the months of March-November! lol
6. Have you participated in after-Christmas sales?
not yet...but planning on bringing my oldest daughter to.....ugh..the mall...sometime this week....
7. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?
Not this year unless my neighbor decides to host the party.....we are most likely staying home after schlepping Courtney off to one of her parties. Yeah, we're boring this year.
8. Is there anything special awaiting you in January?
Yes. My credit card bills...lol and hopefully I will be starting up the Moms in Touch group again. We meet monthly.
9. If your life this year was a movie, what category or genre would it be? (Romance, Comedy, Drama, Thriller, Suspense, Farcical, etc.)
Drama. or Farcical depending on how I view certain "episodes" of the past year...lol....
10. How much time per day do you spend blogging? Please do not lie. I will know.
I blog more than Facebook lately. FB has been great to reconnect with college friends and even a couple of high school friends. One friend is even from 2nd grade! And that was a LONG time ago (1968!). I am probably, on an average day, writing or reading blogs for about 20-45 minutes.
11. Who runs the household?
I run the day to day stuff. My husband is the major decision maker with LOTS of input from me. We do try to work together.....I am mainly the "house manager" though. Of course the daughters like to think THEY run the household :)
12. Share one hope/dream for 2010.
On a personal level: that my friendships would remain grounded in Christ and that I would continue to grow in the Lord.
For my children: that they would continue to put the Lord first in their lives and that Courtney would continue to gain confidence in applying for colleges, finishing up her junior year, etc.
For my husband: that he would continue to grow in God and that we would continue to find times of real communication and setting aside time for just us!
oops, that was 3...sorry!
Thanks, Linda for hosting this!! These were great questions!!

Moms in Touch is a great group! Good for you for starting one! And I usually take down the Christmas tree on New Years Day, the other decor I keep up until I get sick of it. :)
Hey Sandy! Yes, a friend of mine from a different church began the MiT group last school year but unfortunately we had to end it as she took a full time job. but...I am much more organized now and really miss getting the moms together to lift up our schools so....I'm starting it in about 2 weeks hopefully...there were 5 of us but I'm hoping to add a couple more...2 had to drop out...it is a GREAT way to intercede for the schools of our children! talk to you soon
I loved your answers. The part about the bills in January made me laugh!
I think I have a pretty good picture of who you are from this. Thanks! (LOL, I'm not really a winter person either.) :~D
