SNOW DAY!!!!
Well, we are finally getting snow here in the capital region of NYS! and LOTS of it....wet, heavy snow that made driving the girls home from school risky yesterday and cancelled Claire's after school All District Orchestra rehearsal.
Today is a snow day and the rescheduled Orchestra rehearsal is cancelled again!
We are wondering if they are still going ahead with the concert on Friday evening. We are supposed to have snow coming down all day. It's been snowing here in my town since about 1:30 pm yesterday (just flurries before that).
My husband is working from home today as the place where he goes in to work has no power. In fact, many people in that city where he works, are out of power. They are to the west of us by about 25 minutes so we are thankful that thus far we DO have power!!
I am enjoying a day of letting the girls sleep in, making muffins for breakfast, doing some leisurely Bible study time and finishing up my prayer sheet for the Moms in Touch meeting at my house on Friday...of course if school continues to be cancelled, the meeting will be cancelled.
I am also still planning on doing a short post on the topic of forgiveness. It was the next chapter in my study book and there are some good Scriptures in that chapter.
God is good and He is in the business of repairing broken relationships. Sometimes they take time and sometimes even if we are ready to have the relationship restored, the other person is NOT ready....i am finding that to be true in one friendship I have that has struggled recently and with another woman I know who is having some trouble in that area.....it seems like no matter how much we, as Christians, apologize and then let things go that have offended US, the other person, unless they are ready, will not budge. I was telling a friend of mine recently who is having trouble with someone she knows (the person is not acting forgiving towards her even though she claimed to have forgiven my friend) that her friend just might not be totally ready for the relationship to be restored. God has to work in hearts and sometimes, if there is still an unforgiving spirit in the person, that person just needs to lay it down at the foot of the cross and leave it. The cool thing about this is that this friend of mine who has these struggles is experiencing the same type of situation that I am experiencing. It is kind of neat to pray for each other....we live hours away from each other and only stay connected through Facebook....so...we are praying for each other and keeping in touch the best we can.
The best way to react to someone who hasn't fully forgiven you? KINDNESS. Treat them kindly and with compassion. Also: PRAYER.....praying FOR someone who has wronged you or even who feels that you have wronged THEM, does keep any resentment away and with no resentment, bitterness will not take root.
So.....the Golden Rule still applies today....I always tell my daughters to try to do to others what you would want others to do to you.
And now it's time to go shovel!

Shovel away, my friend!
Loved this... "The best way to react to someone who hasn't fully forgiven you? KINDNESS." So true!!!
Must go call our daughter now. I wonder if they're still buried in snow in the D.C. area?
Enjoy the rest of your snow day. :~D
We actually are sitting in really nice weather right now. Hopefully we'll stay that way for a bit though I'm sure we'll still have a blast or two of winter yet.
Forgiveness is such a huge topic, isn't it? I too am going through a forgiveness thing right now and I find that it can be a real battle of the mind, too.
i know for a fact that your shovels dont look that new, nor have that shape....which truly makes it harder to shovel with that bend in the handle...
Hi Matt: you are correct..we don't own that shovel but I took the pic from the internet...it's the kind of shovel that many of our neighbors use and they say it is easier on the back....I've never tried one tho.
Susanne: we can lift each other up in prayer about the forgiveness issue! Will keep you in my prayers....also, feel free to email me at any time....
