Real Restoration!

Wow!!

A couple of days ago, I asked for prayer regarding a situation where there were a couple of people involved, including my self, that needed some restoration from the Lord.

Well, I cannot go into the details other than to say that the 2 friends (one lives out of state, the other lives in another part of this state) have had some real break-throughs, spiritually-speaking!  And, there has been restoration in these friendships, in the family involved,(they are related to each other but not to me) and in my part of it.  (I was involved in some peer counseling with one of these dear friends....mainly because we had similar backgrounds and experiences as teenagers/young adults...and we had a connection from the whole ordeal; I also had been encouraging one of them to go online to my church's website to see/hear the sermons as some of what my pastor has been preaching on lately has seemed to be something I felt my dear friend needed to hear!). I basically just listened, and in so doing became aware of this connection to her past.....part of my own past!

But...you don't need to know the details to know that our God is a big God...and He is all about the business of restoring lives.....true restoration occurs when hearts are willing to change, commitments to Christ are made or renewed, and true compassion from friends involved or counselors caring is brought forth.  Also.....restoration occurs when honesty is allowed to be shared and feelings, whether negative or positive, are allowed to be aired openly with trusted, safe people. I sure can't say enough about THAT!

In this situation, some grieving needed to be done....and...some forgiving.  Of others and self. (each person involved need to forgive themselves...to move on and to let go!) Getting to some root issues was vital.....and what refreshment, emotionally and spiritually, followed!  Peace that passes our own understanding. Joy that transcends any kind of happiness found here on earth!

How amazing is our God!

This came at a perfect time for me.....the assurance that I do hear the Lord's leading and that my prayer journaling is not in vain.  He uses us when we are open to it!!
How restorative those thoughts are!

"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' saith the LORD of hosts." Zechariah 4:6

It is by the Spirit of God that this restoration of the past has occurred...how we all (there are 3 of us) are praising His Mighty Name!

So...if you lifted me up in prayer about that, thank you!!!!

So glad that your hearts were open and God could move and heal and restore. Root issues are so important. I think we try so hard sometimes to treat the symptoms never really getting down to what is causing the symptoms.

Amen, Susanne! How true those words are....any counselor, whether Christian or not, will say the same thing. SOOOO important to get to that root and dig it out!
