A Verse of Hope

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."  Galations 6:9

I have always liked the word "hope".  I have a sister named Hope.  Love her name!

Hope keeps us going.....when things don't look great, or we are unsure of the future...or even of today...hope can keep our eyes placed on where they need to be.....

Keeping hope "alive" in our very minds, hearts, and souls....will bring a harvest...we will reap from it!

There are different seasons in our lives.....I am so glad there are!  Life would be so boring if everything were always the same, wouldn't it??  Or if people were all the same??

I am starting a small series on Hope.

I am also tying it in with the non-fiction book I am currently finishing up entitled One Simple Act: Discovering the Power of Generosity by Debbie Macomber. (see my sidebar)

This book is changing me in ways I didn't even know needed changing......

and I look forward to sharing some of the truths and wisdom in this book.....

and how it is tying in with my own life and with thoughts on hope.....

Having hope in Christ is so freeing for our minds, souls, bodies and hearts!!

What are some things you are hoping for?

In whom, or what, do you place your hope?

I am learning to place my hope.....my dreams, my plans, my yearnings, into the Master's Hands...and with that, I am freeing my mind from struggles of perfectionism, control, anxiety of what others might think.......(anything can fit in here......)

my hope is in Christ Jesus.......is yours??

Come back soon to share on this topic of "hope"....I would love to know your thoughts.....

Have a blessed week......

Hi Faith,
I really enjoyed reading this post today. It made me think...is my hope in Christ? I know i placed my hope in him the day I was saved, but somewhere along the way, I found myself "taking over the reins" of my life again. I always felt I had to be the one to make certain things happen. I think I was buying into the lie that God only helps those who help themselves. And while it's true that each of us have to do our part, there are times when I think God calls us to put all our hope in Him and Him alone. I still struggle with this at times, but I'm getting better at going to God first and giving Him my concerns, my hopes, dreams, etc. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Hello Faith,
Thanks for your comment on my blog! It was fun to read about your sister's name. I guess your parents named their children with their faith and hope in Christ in mind :).

Hi Rosie: thanks for visiting! hope you had a great xmas! For sure we must put our hope in Christ! There really is nothing else! And I think almost every Christian struggles with this at some point or another...or we try to put our hope in others but it just doesn't work. I feel much free-er in my spirit when I remember to place ALL my hope in Him.....it is definitely an anchor to hold onto when the going gets rough or when things are "dark". thanks for sharing!!

Sherrin: I also have a sister named Joy (and a much younger one named Jill! :) )
