It's time to take a few minutes and list 5 of our favorite things from the past week. God blesses us in big and small ways...sometimes the small ways are more poignant than the big things!! A huge THANK YOU to Susanne from over here for hosting this each week....I love looking back at the week and seeing where God blessed me and I really like visiting each of you and reading your faves!!
- COFFEE WITH HUBBY! My husband, Dave, for some reason awoke on Sunday morning at like 6 a.m. He was bringing me coffee in bed by 6:30 (I kinda wanted to sleep in!!). But it was quiet with both girls still sleeping (ah..the perks of parenting a preteen & teen!). We chatted about all kinds of things, and it was refreshing to be up with time to connect and drink my fave beverage. I love Sunday mornings!!
- PASSIONFRUIT/MANGO TEA! I discovered a new tea this week. I am not normally a tea drinker (see fave one!) but Tuesday evening was wet, dreary and damp. I had come in from my preteen's ballet classes at about 7:45 pm and was quite chilled, I put the tea kettle on. This herbal tea is exquisite!! The flavors really pop through and linger on the tongue long after the last sip.

- THIS PIC from the collection of photos that we had done for her senior portrait. The school photographer does the ones for the yearbook but Courtney wanted a more professional one done for her grad announcements/party invites. The party we are giving her is an Open House style and will be casual. This is one of my faves from the collection. We might go with this one for the invites.

- SISTERS!! This pic of my 2 daughters...the photographer was kind enough to honor Courtney's request to have a few pics done with her little sis. They have always been close and get along so well; it is hard to believe they are 5 1/2 years apart. There were several pictures I just loved but I am only allowed to display on here the ones with the photographer's watermark. This one might be made into a gift for the grandparents.
- SPRING CONCERT! Our 12 year old (Claire) had her last elementary school concert on Wednesday evening. Such a bittersweet time! She played first violin in the Orchestra (they sounded great!) and sang in the Soprano section of the 5th/6th grade Chorus. The great news for me is: she has decided to take Orchestra AND Chorus in the autumn at the junior high school. This means she is giving up having a study hall in her schedule. She doesn't mind at all....she is definitely our stage girl as she is also joining Theater Club. And unlike the rest of us who studied French, she is choosing to study 7 years of Russian! (her 2nd choice is French of which she will need to complete one semester of next year per district requirements.) She has taken Russian and German this year and loved both. Spanish was a language that she dubbed "too easy" and French she likes but says she prefers Russian. It is a tough one in our district so we'll see if she changes her mind after the NYS Regents when she is a sophomore....she might not wanna finish the last 2 years...then again, knowing Claire, she might, just to prove to us that she can! She is definitely a girl who knows what she wants. (kind of like her big sis! hm....maybe they DO take after mom and dad after all!!! )
Those are my top things from the week(can you tell what is taking priority in our home these next few weeks??)...there are so many more ways the Lord showed His Love this week.....too many to write about...
I hope you have some things you want to share that God blessed you with this week...take a moment and comment about it...I read each and every one....and if you are a blog owner, think about joining in on this fun post!!
HAPPY WEEKEND!!!

Those photos are gorgeous! The photographer did a great job.
What sweet photos of your girls! Precious. Good for your daughter choosing to study Russian. I'm a bit biased as I'm 100% Russian. My Russian is deplorable...
Have a great weekend.
I just love the pic of the girls together.
What a great week! Your girls are so lovely! My two girls are 9 years apart and I still love to snap photos of them together even though they're both adults now.
Russian? Wow! Amazing girl!
I love how the pictures of Courtney turned out and that one of them together is really, really nice.
Good for Claire for taking on Russian. My kids weren't too interested in the languages though one of the girls took a year or two of Spanish and the other took a year of Japanese.
Love the pic of the girls together--what a treasure!!
P.S.- Your hubby and I share a fave this week, I'm sure; the Sox are a 1/2 game back in the AL East! :)
What a great post. The girls are beautiful....the tea sounds great..when I've been out late, I sometimes want a soothing drink like that.
Lovely photos,
Mama Bear
i did take time to post my own fave five blessings although i posted on saturday and not friday. i felt lazy, but since i too have so many blessings i just HAD to post.
the main tea i like besides english breakfast is moroccan mint green tea by stash. but the way you described the passionfruit mango tea is making my tastebuds antsy for a taste.
i enjoy going to school concerts especially at the end of the year. you get to hear the progress and celebrate the hard work and diligence of all the students.
hope this week is also a blessed one, faith, and that you get more quite mornings with hubby.
Such a SWEET sister picture -- just love it!
Good to hear you don't have to make up those snow days, too.
Too many things to write about? That's a great week! Hope the next week is just as filled with blessings.
Those are fantastic photos! Your girls are beautiful. I'm glad you had some time with hubby, and some nice tea to relax with. You must be so proud of your girls!
