Simply the Daybook for July 2

I'm participating in the July issue of the Simple Woman's Daybook...a place where women come together and journal about the upcoming day, finding the simple pleasures....hosted by Peggy from over here!

FOR TODAY

Outside my window....a perfect summer day....puffy white clouds, cerulean blue sky, fresh mown grass, and the flower seeds I planted (Cosmos) have just budded and are opening up....

I am thinking....about the upcoming graduation party for our oldest daughter

I am thankful....for the freedoms we are blessed with in this country!

In the kitchen....oat bran bread for toast, blackberry jam, steaming hot coffee, fresh-cut cantaloupe, and grape juice for the girls.  Grilled lemon chicken for tonite with zucchini, tomatoes, and mozzarella, and steamed dill rice

I am wearing...denim shorts, light blue kayaking tee shirt, ankle bracelet, small butterfly earrings

I am creating.... a display board for Courtney's graduation party, and a slideshow of her life thus far.....

I am going....to a beautiful lake this afternoon for kayaking, swimming, and resting with my family

I am wondering...if the weather will be this perfect for next weekend's party!

I am reading... The Scent of Water: Grace for Every Kind of Broken by Naomi Zacharias, and 2 Kings in the Chronological Bible, and Port Mortuary by Patricia Cornwell.  I am also flipping through the latest issue of Simple and Delicious cooking magazine, and the latest issue of the Adirondack Explorer magazine.

I am hoping... to find rolls and bakery bread on sale this morning

I am looking forward to...my oldest daughter's graduation party (from high school!)

I am hearing... birds chirping in the cherry trees in my front yard, my youngest daughter getting ready for the day, the buzz of a power saw being used by a neighbor

Around the house...groceries to purchase for our picnic lunch today, laundry to put away, and a dishwasher to empty (the girls' chores)

I am pondering... on the blessed forgiveness of Christ, and the glory of God found in His Creation!

One of my favorite things... days that have no obligations!

A few plans for the rest of the week: church tomorrow, baking for the upcoming party,  visiting extended family on Independence Day, hair appointments for my youngest daughter and my self,  setting up the backyard for the graduation party....and then the PARTY!

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

What are some of the simple things you are enjoying today??

I enjoyed visiting your blog and reading your daybook! I also have a daughter who graduated from high school this year, and we had an open house with a bunch of our and her friends after the ceremony. Special memories.

Your daybook was interesting. I hope you have a great week. Blogging is all about sharing so if I were you I would take the copy scape off. Said in love and to be helpful.

Thanks for visiting, ladies! the reason I have copyscape is because I often post family pics or pics from ministries my children are involved in..and it's just safer that way! i've only had a couple of problems with people taking content off of here....
