Busy Faves

It's Friday!  And time for our weekly faves......what blessed us or made our week special?  We link up over at Susanne's, our gracious host and write about five favorite happenings.....

This was a busy week in our household.  I feel like I hardly had any quality quiet time yet God brought me or showed me little blessings all through this hectic week.  And for that, I am grateful.

  • GIFT FROM HUBBY!  I couldn't believe it when my husband walked in from work on Monday evening with a box of Dunkin' Donut Decaf K cups!  He said this way we can have decaf on hand and for the women in my small group since a few of them only want decaf in the evening meetings.  He was so thoughtful....it just made my day!

  • A HAIR COMPLIMENT!  It sounds like I'm bragging but....my co-worker told me on Tuesday morning she LOVED my hair. And I was just lamenting at home earlier that morning that I hated it!  I love my color but the latest choppy bob is just not working for me.  I'm trying to grow it out and it's driving me crazy!!  So to get a compliment about my cut was nice to hear.....I guess I just need to be patient to grow it out! :)
the cut I have but it doesn't work for me
  • SAFE TRAVELS!  Our oldest daughter (age 18) traveled to Albany (about 7 miles south of us) from Boston with 2 other students.  The girl driving the car is from out in western NY so Courtney gave her money towards gas and hitched a ride with her from campus to get back here for spring break.  I was so thankful that they made it safely!  And the extra bonus was I got to meet 2 new students (the art major guy who was also getting a ride, and the driver, a lovely young woman). It is such a relief to know that everything went well! And it's awesome to have her home for a week!

  • WARMER TEMPS!  We've had such a mild winter that it seems funny to be say warmer temps are a fave...but by warmer I mean 65 degrees F!!! WHOO HOO! Now THIS is my kind of weather!  That's the temp that we had here in my town yesterday.  And I loved taking the students outside for recess...the mid-day sun felt sooooo good. By the time I left work at 3 pm though, the clouds had arrived and it got very dark...but the temps were still so mild I only needed a sweater.  I loved it! Spring in the air is always a fave with me!!

  • BROWNIES!  You know it's a good week if coffee or food makes my fave list! LOL....actually, it was such a busy week and the weekend is gonna be even more busy, that I couldn't really think of any other faves BUT junk food!  LOL.... but that's ok.  Spring break is coming and then I can relax a bit.  Last Sunday, after church and an errand, I decided to bake my mother's old brownie recipe.  My children LOVE her super moist brownies. They are wicked rich though and call for a LOT of sugar so I don't bake them often. It had literally been years since I last made them.  I made the brownies and we all enjoyed them.  I also saved half the batch to pull out THIS weekend for while Courtney is home so she can enjoy them too.  Yeah for moms who pass down good recipes!

That's it for me!

Our weekend is a bit hectic.  Dave has things to do tonite. Courtney is going out with a friend.  Claire and I are heading over to her former elementary school to see the musical production the current 6th graders are putting on (The Wizard of Oz). She has several friends in the show.  On Saturday we are painting the master bedroom and doing housework.  Claire has an all day musical rehearsal for Beauty and the Beast at her school (she's in the chorusline).  And Sunday is church and then more things to do at home later in the day. (I have major planning and studying to do for my women's group.  We are starting a new book and it's intense!)
It's rather busy around our house these days.........but it's all good stuff!

And Spring is right around the corner!!

Happy Weekend, everyone!

We have brownies, brownies, and more brownies at our house right now. Someone put out the word that Andrew likes them and they magically appeared! Glad you got your college girl home. My youngest is on his way tonight. Thanks for visiting and for your prayers, Faith. Keep it up!

Yay for thoughtful husbands!! I have been drinking half decaf/half regular all week due to acid reflux problems : ( But I am glad I can have at least that! Glad to hear Courtney got home safely. I remember finding rides home from college. It doesn't seem that long ago.....

yes, the warmer temps were nice this week. However, just since I got home from work tonight we have gotten about one inch of snow. It looks like Christmas!

Oh, I love Mom's brownies. Yummy.

Okay, all you girls and your baking pictures are killing me! I'm craving all sorts of baking now and am now adding brownies to the list. LOL.

Very thoughtful of Dave to buy that coffee for you and your study group.

I am always very thankful when my girl makes it home safe and sound and then back again. Glad Courtney was able to catch a ride with some great people. Enjoy your time with her.

Love that haircut. You should post of pic of yourself with it. :v)

I crave sweets when I feel stressed or an extra busy - reading about your weekend made me need a brownie. Whew! I hope you all survive the weekend. And oh my, how proud you all will be with the accomplishments.

I never heard of Decaf K cups. What a great idea to have on hand for those few who want decaf. And what a sweet hubby.

What book are you studying?

So sorry to hear that the haircut isn't working out. It is so cute on the model.
