Well, we welcome March today and supposedly Spring begins in just 21 days. It still looks and feels like Winter here in New York State though and I know in most of New England as well!
Let's pause for a moment and reflect back on the week to share FIVE things that brought smiles to faces. I do this to be intentional about giving thanks in the daily blessings from God and then link up at Susanne's site who hosts this each week.
- DATE NIGHT! Last Friday evening, Dave and I had our monthly "in-house" date night. We made scrambled eggs and toast with blackberry jam for dinner and ate on the family room couch while watching this movie about the first black baseball player, Jackie Robinson. What an excellent movie! (if you like baseball, which Dave really does, and which I tolerate). It was very well done and should put us to shame (white Americans) as to how he was treated by so many in the media and the baseball world. I'm thankful we had a good time together and watched something so profound and eye-opening.

- NEW LIFE! Over the weekend I decided to get some new plants for the house. The only living plant we've had for the last several years, in the house, is Yahma my bamboo plant that sits in the living room or family room depending on my mood. (yes, I name my plants). I chose a spider plant and English ivy. I also have a small basil plant growing in the kitchen which I've been enjoying with tomato sandwiches. I'm thankful for some new, green life in the house as winter draws to a close!
- CONVERSATION! Dave and I often need to be intentional about conversing in the evenings, especially during the work week. Sunday evening was the perfect time to finally sit together, with no movie ,social media, or pod-casts, and just talk. We had herbal tea together and just sat and caught up on what we are both reading in the Bible, as well as some things that are going on with his aging parents and their health, and some goals we have as a couple. I'm thankful we had this time because next week he will be tele-commuting from his parents' home to help out his mother while his dad is in rehab.
- SALE! Last week I managed to get in on a great lingerie sale at this website. If I ordered 10 pairs, it was going to be only $35.00 with free shipping! There was a problem with their website so the "Chat" helper advised me to call a special number that he gave out and the young woman on the phone placed my order with no problems and gave me an extra discount for the "inconvenince" of having to call. I was shocked when she said I'd get 10 pairs for only $21.00 and free shipping in two days. That's definitely something to be thankful for! Plus, it's nice to get some new undergarments. :)
- SMALL GROUP MEETING: Wednesday evening, even though we were getting some light snowfall (another 3 inches!), I kept the small group meeting scheduled because 4 out of the 6 ladies were planning on coming and it had been several weeks since we all had last met. It was so good to discuss the last two lessons and get caught up on prayer requests and how everyone is doing. I'm so thankful for getting to lead this group and I hope a new group for late spring will be just as productive.
I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.....
think spring!

Wow sounds like you got a great deal on the underwear. Hopefully they kept their word on delivery time. I need to organise a date night with hubby and yes making time to talk is so important. Have a good weekend.
I do love a good sale! And new underwear! Your date night sounds so cool, just our style. We're all baseball fans in our household. Go Rockies!
So good to be intentional about nights of conversation, and turning off the TV and muting the phones.
Enjoy your weekend, Faith!
Good conversation, good deals, relaxing dinner and a good movie, makes for a great week. We are starting a new small group on Sunday night. Looking forward to meeting some new folks in our new community. Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Yes, that movie is excellent, and well made.
Don't you love a good deal? I'm glad that in the end the purchase went so well (and cheaply!).
I hope all goes well with Dave's parents. This is a special time of life for you all.
Have a great weekend!
Good customer service topped with an extra discount is an awesome blessing. We saw that movie when it first came out and thought it was excellent. I love having breakfast for supper. We had such a nice start to winter it really put us in a lull and now we are being hit hard with one extreme cold warning after another. Yikes. Doesn't stop us from doing what we usually do anyway, though. LOL.
