So here we are heading into the last days of July already! Only 3 more weeks of summer school and then I'm on vacation and I'm really looking forward to that before the busyness of September and the regular school year starting up again.
For now, I'm pausing to share five things that made me smile this week and say "Thank You, God". I'm participating in Susanne's FRIDAY FAVE FIVE so head on over here to learn more about it and to join in.

FIVE FAVES
- CENTRAL AIR: Never have Dave and I been more thankful for central air conditioning than last weekend. What hot, humid and hazy days we had....about 5 in a row! That's a lot for our area of New York State. I never want to take AC for granted. I do prefer the fresh air and being outdoors, but those temps of 96 with a heat index feeling like 105 was too much for me. There IS a reason we live in the Great Northeast!
We were able turn it off Monday too because the temps became much more reasonable! Yay!!

- "ME" TIME: Dave had to work on the production team for both services at church Sunday, so I got up and went to the 9 a.m. service with him. Since he also had a missions team meeting that day for lunch and both daughters had plans or were working, I decided to pack some cold drinks and a few snacks and head to this place. I hadn't been there in about 4 years and NYS really has expanded the amenities. I love the new bathrooms with hot water and the trails are pristine. The lake is gorgeous and the water temp is nice and cold as it's a mountain lake. My fave part, though, is that there's a grassy area first, then the sand/beach/lake. I like being able to put my things on the grass. I spent about 3 hours there just walking the main trail to the dam, reading and swimming. I'm thankful we live near so many nice state parks....this is one I need to go to more often as it's only about 40 minutes east of us.
- SAFE TRAVELS: Our youngest daughter drove to the middle of Connecticut yesterday morning to visit one of her college friends who will no longer be attending UNH as she's transferring to one closer to her home in CT. I was very thankful when I saw the text that came through while I was at work saying Claire had arrived safely.

- NEW JAMMIES: I really needed some new lounge-wear and saw these were on sale at one of my fave online stores. They are super soft and comfy and are perfect for evenings when we have the central air on or for sleeping with the windows open on a cool evening. I have a "thing" for dragonflies and those of you who know our story, know that it's our symbol (Dave and mine from our dating days). I'm thankful for online sales and comfy lounge-wear.
- ICED COLD DRINK: Yesterday afternoon, after work and errands and a visit to my chiropractor, I treated my self to this iced drink. It's the 2nd time I've had one this summer and it's my new iced fave. Oh my goodness.....delicious fruit flavor!! It's refreshing and light. I'm thankful for drinks other than iced coffees. Since we don't drink soda in our house, this is a great alternative...healthier too!! The down side is there's 30 grams of sugar in the grande size so I get the small one.
That wraps up my week.....whatever your plans for the weekend....ENJOY!!

Good morning! It was fun to read your faves for this week. I like iced drinks and rarely get any. I don't know why not. I will keep this selection in mind. And maybe try to make one at home as I have a TON of tea.
I, too, love online shopping. Since I broke my shoulder, I've been doing a lot of that. It is a small way I can have independence. Deodorant, toothpaste, underwear, and a birthday present are things I've bought these past 6 weeks.
Those PJ's you picked are sooooo cute. Thanks for leaving the link as I hadn't heard of this online store before.
So glad Claire made it safely to her destination. I am grateful that my daughter also sends, "I've arrived" texts. She is camping/hiking this week in Yosemite and I look forward to her daily text.
Have a great week, Faith.
Wow, that national park you visited last week sounds amazing. How awesome that you got to spend time there soaking up nature, rest, and refreshment.
I am so thankful for AC, too. I don't think I would function well without it.
You do have some great parks and natural areas there. Those "safe arrival" texts are precious.
What a lovely place to visit for some "me" time. Love the jammies. I was wishing we had AC this week. It's been unbearably hot. Better now thank goodness. Always good to know the kids have arrived safely when travelling and so much easier these days with technology.
I'll have to give that drink a try. I usually get the strawberry coconut refresher but this sounds yummy too. That is hot and humid. We've had to run our air more at night this year but more so because of noise issues in the neighborhood though this week is supposed to be hot. That lake looks like a wonderful spot to relax.
That lake is absolutely beautiful! What a wonderful place to have some ME time.
I think several people mentioned heat and air conditioning...yes, I never take it for granted.
So glad that Claire made it safely to CT.
I hope you are having a good week.
