What a week, huh? It's hard to believe that just 14 days ago I was cleaning up our classroom after work and looking forward to the next week of activities. Which of course hasn't happened. Yet.
For now, let's pause in our crazy "work from home" day and find FIVE of our FAVE blessings from the past week. No matter how crazy life is right now, we can always find things to be thankful for. What made you smile this week? Share and link up over at Susanne's site.
FIVE FAVES
FIVE FAVES
- ORGANIZING: Last Saturday we finally had word that Claire (our youngest who is an UNH junior) can finally come home after retrieving her dorm things on the 30th. So Dave and I started cleaning out the basement a bit to make room for her fridge, microwave, chair, boxes of dorm stuff she won't need until after summer. She began online classes after their spring break on Monday and so far all is going well. She'll continue remote learning from here at home beginning Monday! Thankfully, a few years ago when I bought a treadmill for the winter months, I bought the kind that folds up...so we have it leaning against a wall so she has a nice big space to do her pointe class. Dave created an office space in the living room so that Claire can have her pointe class in basement with no interruptions, and I'm mainly working in the dining room. Our oldest daughter is now working from home too so she's using her desk area in her bedroom. I'm thankful we got this chore done and I even managed to give away a couple of board games the girls no longer use.

- HIKING! I met two friends in the town a bit north of us here in the capital region of NY for a new to us trail. What a gem. We thought we were only going to walk the main trail (called White Trail) and it would have been a nice short 2 miles round trip. Well, we somehow ended up on another trail (Orange) and then another one (Yellow). We ended up hiking the entire trail system which was just about 4.5 miles. It was glorious! Sunny, blue skies and a temp of 35 degrees F. As you can see from the photo below, we were responsible and practiced social distancing. The other photos show some "chain saw art" that was found along the White trail that someone did several years ago. We were so thankful to get out in the sunshine and fresh air.

- DOORDASH APP: I was very tired on Sunday evening and had no idea what to cook for dinner. Our daughter Courtney wanted to re-watch Les Choristes movie with us that evening, so we decided to use the doordash app and ordered food from our fave local diner. This way we could all order our absolute fave dishes from then and give them business! One of my fave meals from the diner is their chicken caesar wrap on spinach tortilla. It's large so I saved half for lunch the next day. I'm thankful for doordash which is offering free delivery during the pandemic.

- IN-HOUSE DATE NIGHT: Monday evening was snowing a wet icky sloppy mess, so instead of going for a walk, we decided to have an after dinner date night with a movie from Netflix. Courtney was still in her room working so it was just Dave and I. We chose a movie about baseball and didn't realize it was faith-based until about half way through the movie. It was very good and I highly recommend it for families of children ages 10 and older. I'm thankful we had a chance to unwind from the stress of dealing with working online remotely. We both have discovered we much prefer actually leaving the house to go to work.
- SUNSHINE! Some of the week was grey and chilly. Most of the days though had bright, warm sunshine which quickly melted the 3 inches of snow we received on Monday. My fave thing about it was I was able to sit in the morning sun in my dining room while taking online trainings yesterday for work followed by a nice long walk. I'm very thankful for Spring and sun!

So glad you will be able to have your family altogether at this difficult time and still find some positives. Hope the journey to bring Claire home goes ok. Stay safe.
Hi Faith. Great faves for this week. I love the hike, especially. So glad you will have both of your daughters back home with you soon. You sound upbeat - which is great as this whole thing drags on. We'll get through this.
I'm glad things worked out so everyone has space to work at home. Will Claire have to self-quarantine when she gets home? Or has she been considered quarantined where she is? Or maybe that's only for kids coming in from out of the country--one blogger I read in Canada had a son going to college in the States, and he had to self-quarantine for two weeks after he got home. I am not sure how that works, but I am glad we haven't had to deal with it.
That chain saw art is nice. I don't know how they can be so precise with it.
Glad you had some sunshine and hiking time.
Sounds like a great week. Thanks for the movie tip. I am always looking for good movies. God bless.
It snowed again here last night, but the sun is shining today and it will melt all the snow quickly. I'm thankful that if we had to be in quarantine, it is during the time of year where the world is renewing itself, giving us hope! Nice that you can get out and hike, doing what you love. Be well!
So glad Claire is coming home. That must be so nice for you guys. Might be a bit crowded with everyone working from home but that's a great exchange in order to have everyone safe and sound close to you. The hike looks lovely. I think I'll try that with some friends too once I'm over the 10 day self isolation. I'll have to look up that movie and see if Canadian Netflix has it.
Great faves again this week, Faith. I love seeing your photos of your walks. I think all the trails in our area are closed, so we are walking around and around our neighborhood. Sigh. But at least we can be outside.
Good news that Claire is coming home!
