LEAPING for JOY

It doesn't feel like a year where we want to leap for joy, does it?

2020 has certainly turned out to be vastly different than what most of us imagined last January with our "words of the year" and our goals or resolutions.  March came and with it most of America....the world actually...shut down.

But those of us who put our trust in God don't have to feel hopeless or fearful.

We probably haven't felt like "leaping for joy" like this Scripture talks about but if you look deeply into your heart....and look at your life.....there are most likely things you are thankful for.

and those things??

Those are things we can thank God for:  maybe it's your job.....or your family life....maybe you've done things together you might not normally do before Covid19...maybe it's something as simple as a hot cup of tea after a long work day.  Or a child who accomplished something via school.  Or a young adult child who excelled in a college course or had a glowing review from a work colleague.

Maybe it's just thanking Him for what He created:  our gorgeous world we see in nature.  The miracle of a newborn baby.  The colors of a sunset or the scent of fresh pine boughs in the woods.

We have things to be thankful for this season.

I'm thankful I get to work with special preschoolers in an amazing preschool agency.

I'm thankful for a competent supervisor and for other leadership who know how to encourage their employees.

I'm thankful my husband can work (even though he's still at home!) and that our oldest daughter has worked the entire time as well.

I'm thankful our youngest daughter is at a university with cutting edge technology to hold Covid19 at bay and that most of the students are following guidelines.  I'm thankful she's doing well in her classes.

I'm thankful for my neighbors as we watch out for one another and for extended family who keep in touch via texts, Zoom meetings and  cards or email.

I'm thankful for close friends who love to walk or do lunch.

I'm thankful for Creation/nature and all the beauty around us.

I'm thankful for life and the breath to breathe in the One who makes it all possible.

My heart leaps for joy at His goodness.

Lovely post, Faith. We all have a lot to be thankful for. God is still in control and that in and of itself is enough to make us want to "jump for joy." Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
