Last Week of Work Menu Plan!

For the last couple of weeks I haven't done up a dinner time meal plan and my grocery bill noticed. Yikes. Groceries...at least certain ones....are rising in price and I try to stick to a certain budget for weekly items. Hopefully this week I can spend less by choosing wisely and using up some stuff we have stocked up.

Here's my plan for this upcoming week. I may switch things up as I usually do but this is it for now.

  • SUNDAY:  FATHER'S DAY BBQ CHICKEN AND RIBS AT THIS PLACE!!  (Courtney, our oldest girl and her best friend Nathanael and their friend Kai from Kansas are joining in on the fun to celebrate Dave being the world's best daddy to our 2 precious daughters.  Claire unfortunately can't join us as she's attending a bridal shower in NH)

  • MONDAY:  Bbq Jackfruit (for Claire and I as she's visiting us for dinner) Bbq Pork chop for Dave served on sesame seed buns; Raw Veggies (carrots, peppers, cucumbers) Coleslaw, Salsa and Blue Corn Tortilla Chips; leftover pie for dessert

  • WEDNESDAY: Vegan "fish" tacos with leftover coleslaw; Grilled Zucchini/Carrots with Italian Marinade; berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries).

  • THURSDAY: Grilled  Italian seasoned boneless, skinless chicken breasts; Pesto Cous Cous; Steamed Broccoli/Cauliflower

  • FRIDAY: Thai Pizza and Tossed Salad; Oat Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream or s'mores if we do a bonfire (the last time this entree was on the menu we ended up going out for dinner!)

Saturday we will be driving 2 hours north -west to the Olympic Center in Lake Placid to hike a mountain there.  It's an all day trip so we will stop somewhere for dinner after the hike.

HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!

You are more organized than I am.
You asked about Miss Marple/Agatha Christie. I have ALL the Agatha Christie books--all paperbacks and some are in fragile condition. Every once in a while I will grab one of them and read it. Maybe this summer or fall I will return the books to our friends who now live in TN.

Yum. Wishing you a happy retirement (how can that be? grin). Wishing your husband, a Happy Father's Day. smiles

P.S. Indeed groceries are going up and up.
