1. Hello Summer! In the northern hemisphere anyway. What's something on your summer bucket list? Do you have an actual summer bucket list? If not, use your hypothetical list.
I don't really have a "summer bucket list" but there are a few things we wanted to do and discussed last winter. We actually have plans to do all 3: Spend 5 days in Stowe, Vermont and do the history tour of the Von Trapp Family Lodge (we have a reservation for July 1!!); Drive out to Michigan/Lake Huron Retreat Center and visit my long time friend (since I was 13!! So that's 50 years of friendship!) Ann and spend some time with her kayaking, etc etc. (we have plans to go the end of August/beginning of September); hike up Mt VanHoevenburg from the Olympic Center in Lake Placid (we're supposed to go Saturday if it doesn't rain!).
2. What for you is the defining scent of summer?
the scent of the grill cooking chicken, bison burgers, impossible burgers....; the scent of the fresh balsam on a mountain summit in that warm sunshine...there's just something about the smells in the Adirondacks during summer......
3. What's a (music, food, wine, or flower) festival happening in your part of the country that you would like to attend if tickets/travel/timing was no object? First of all, we make time. Especially for the classical season at SPAC. And money?? well...you can't bring it with ya when ya die so you might as well enjoy life if you can possibly can. I've been taking my youngest girl...aka the ballerina...to see the NYCBallet every single July since she was 8 yrs old. We also attend a couple of Philadelphia Orchestra concerts (lawn prices are only $25 each) when they're here in August. We like to go to the ADK/Lake George food and wine fest although this year we probably won't. And this summer I'd like to get up to see some summer stock theatre in Lake Luzerne if we can snag tickets and if they're doing a play or musical that is on a night we're free.
4. Apparently a military whistle blower claims the US has a UFO retrieval program. What say you? Do you believe aliens are out there? Well.....in my opinion, no. God would have probably included this in His words about creation in the Old Testament if there were, right?? Yet for some reason scientists, the government, etc has an obsession with outer space and spends millions of dollars on space programs, etc when actually we should be using that money to help with mental illness facilities, poverty of inner city and rural children and families, domestic violence victims and human trafficking issues along with the myriads of other social problems in this nation. Nuf said.
5. Besides your wedding day and the birthdays of any children you may have, what are three of your top experiences in life?
The night I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. (July 12, 1975).
The evening I was emotionally/spiritually healed from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse.
seeing both of my daughters graduate in the top 10% and top 5% of their high schools and go on to do honors programs in their respective colleges and graduate with honors from Gordon College and UNH.

Hi Faith. Fun questions. Sounds like you have many nice summer activities planned. It's so exciting that you are in your final three days of teaching! I hope all goes well. See you again soon!
Woohoooo!!! RETIREMENT! (Grinning-so very happy for you, can you tell?) Have a great rest of the week.
Visiting from the Hodgepodge. Happy Retirement. Hope you love it as much as I do. I retired about 1 1/2 years ago.
Hi Faith! Thanks for stopping at my blog today. I enjoyed my visit here. I agree on the aliens - I think God would have told us.
Hooray for retirement coming up!
Love your travel plans for the summer. My mum and her two sisters visited the Von Trapp family lodge for a few years in a row back in the 90s. They loved it.
