MONDAY DAYBOOK
The weather is Sunny, a high of 86 with a slight breeze and hot enough for the central air this afternoon.
In my garden My two rose bushes are doing very well, finally, and my basil is past prime. I'm actually drying some out to use this Autumn in casseroles; wildflowers are still blooming with more about to bloom. I did some weeding around the peonies and irises again and really got rid of the choked clutter look.
I've been reading: The Preacher, a mystery set in Sweden and the book of Habakkuk in the OT. I started two different novels I found in the library (one was a mystery and one was a science fiction) but couldn't get into either one of them so back to the library they went! I'm also skimming through the Joyce Meyers' book How To Love People who are hard to Love for my upcoming small group I'm leading this Autumn.
I've been watching Room...a movie based on a book I read quite a number of years ago (it's currently on Netflix) and our oldest girl stayed for pizza last night that we picked up after the lake and the 3 of us watched The Search for Spock (StarTrek 3 movie).
I've been listening to: 10th Avenue North in the car on my playlist and the classical music station today
In the kitchen: Dinner will be: grilled salmon, taboule salad, and steamed French green beans with lemon herb vinaigrette
Thought for the day: "The best proof of love is trust" ~Dr. Joyce Brothers~ taken from the devotional Hope in the Dark by Craig Groeschel.
