It's time to pause and share five of our fave blessings from the past week. It's been a week of busyness with a lot of solitude built into it. I'm thankful for days like those. I also usually have more than 5 things to be thankful for each day or week but these are the one that make my "Faves" list. You can join in and head over to Susanne's site to learn more or link up.

- SEASON FOUR! I was thrilled to discover that on The Chosen website, I could set up a free account and watch season 4! Netflix still doesn't have the latest season, so I've watched the first 3 episodes this week and am loving it. I'm so thankful for this series. I absolutely loved the actor in Jesus Revolution and I think he's doing an awesome job portraying Jesus.
- LOBBY CONVERSATION: On Sunday, in between the 2 services, I had a meeting with a woman who has just joined my SoulSteps Hiking group. After speaking with her briefly, my husband caught my eye as he was talking to our senior pastor. I went over and the three of us ended up having an amazing conversation. We had some feedback from Pastor Rex that was so encouraging to us. (We go to the main campus: Latham) I'm so thankful we are friends with our senior pastor and his wife. They're very dear to us and are the "real deal". You can watch his latest sermon here. It's all about integrity and it fit our conversation.

- WILDFLOWER BLOOMS! I finally have some blooms opening up in the deck containers where I planted wildflower seeds. I have 3 wildflower deck containers (one is actually out by the firepit) and so far these are the only blooms although one of the other pots are close). I'm thankful for delicate wildflowers. I think wildflowers are the prettiest flowers out there.
- COURSE COMPLETED! I took a free online course through this college and it was a lot of fun reviewing some music history which I of course had to take in my undergrad days as I was a music education/piano major with a minor in voice. It was fun to hear some of the music I've actually performed and also just to refresh my memory. I even learned a couple of new things about my fave classical composer (Beethoven) and my fave Baroque composer (Handel). This was a fun course to take and it's something I appreciate about retirement: the chance to continue learning with lots of free time! I'm thankful Deb from this blog told me about Hillsdale as I had never heard of this conservative Christian college before. I tend to know the more "liberal" Christian schools: Gordon College (where our oldest daughter got her BA and BS) or Roberts Wesleyan University (where I received my BS ED0

- WALKS! I'm loving my daily walks and really missed it yesterday when we had to drive most of the day to eastern MA for a couple nights. I usually do my walking in the neighborhood or on the bike path but this week I went to The Crossings Park (where I try to go at least once a week in the nicer months). I walked about 3 miles each day and although a couple of the days were only partly sunny, the temps were beautiful....high 60s and low 70s. I love this kind of weather. I'm thankful for safe places to walk!
I had a follow up with my new neurologist who is a nurse practitioner. I really like her and I'm thankful she has a good plan for me. I'm also thankful my husband I had safe travels coming out here to the Plymouth, MA area and that we can do our part in planning my father-in-law's funeral. I'm thankful for my 2 daughters who have agreed to water the plants while we are gone.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! And for those of you here in the States:

What a great opportunity to be able to take courses online from a Christian college! I agree that some Christian colleges are not like the others. It's great to find a conservative one.
Your wildflowers are so pretty. I thought about buying a couple large pots for the front of my apartment. I think wildflowers would be perfect to plant.
It's so nice to have pretty places to walk. And it's lovely to find new friends with your SoulSteps Hiking group. And a special blessing that you are such good friends with your pastor and his wife.
Have a good weekend, my friend.
Melanie: i actually prefer the more "liberal" Christian colleges...they seem more diverse and are rated a tad bit higher academically. At least in our experiences. by "liberal" i mean they don't utilize legalism.
Hi Faithe,
I'm sorry for your loss. It's been a few weeks since I've been able to catch up, so I missed that news. My condolences to your husband and family.
Wildflowers always seem more delicate that those from the nursery, which amazes me how they can thrive on their own. Yours are so pretty.
I took a class from Hillsdale a few years back -- on C.S. Lewis, I believe. I love the opportunities out there for online learning.
I always enjoy your photos from your walks!
Have a nice weekend :)
We just planted some wildflower seeds in May. The leaves are coming up--I'm excited to see the flowers. Yay for completing a course online! It sounds fun! Glad you had a good conversation with your pastor. I'm glad the appointment with your neurology NP went well.
Hi Faith, we have been enjoying Season 4 of The Chosen. I also enjoyed the movie, Jesus Revolution. We have been to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with Chuck Smith and Harvest with Greg Laurie. Have a great weekend!
Hi Faith. I am super late with my FFF post today! Thanks for the shout out. I am glad that you enjoyed the Hillsdale class on classical music. I need to complete the Hillsdale class I began before the school year was over. I haven't seen the movie, Jesus Revolution, but we do enjoy The Chosen. So glad the appointment with the neurologist went well, and that you are having more and more pain free days. Have a good weekend. See you again soon!
I know about Hillsdale College (my son considered going there) and I think I'd love their courses... sometime when I am not so busy.
Love all your walks, your wildflowers and especially your good conversation with your pastor and his wife.
Planning the funeral will not be an easy thing. It is always sad.
Have a good weekend, maybe with a quick walk in MA.
I should walk half an hour each day, but at it rains it's too humid for me. So I haunt the castle's corridors they are very looong !
You asked me what "rusk" is, it's the Queen's English word for Zwieback, which is German (lol) I had to look it up too !
